OUR STORY

How it started.

It started with a microphone and a question that wouldn’t fit into a tweet. Sanny Ntayombya had spent years in media — writing, broadcasting, building audiences — and kept running into the same wall: the formats were too short, the conversations too shallow, and the stories that mattered most to the continent were being compressed into clips designed to disappear.

In 2022, he launched The Long Form — a podcast built on a simple conviction: African audiences deserve the same depth and production quality that global listeners take for granted. No time limits. No soundbites. Just an hour, a guest, and a real conversation.

The format is the message. When you give people ninety minutes instead of nine seconds, you’re telling them their attention is worth something.

The response was immediate and sustained. Listeners didn’t just tune in — they stayed. They replayed. They forwarded episodes to colleagues and friends with notes that said “you need to hear this.” The audience wasn’t just consuming content. They were building a habit around depth.

From that momentum, LF Media was born — not as a single show, but as a media company designed to house a growing roster of premium productions. Healthy Beginnings launched to serve young African families navigating pregnancy and early parenthood. The Money Blueprint arrived to address the personal finance gap facing the continent’s emerging middle class. Each show has its own identity, its own host, and its own audience. What they share is a commitment to substance.

Today, LF Media operates from Kigali with listeners across more than twenty countries. We produce shows, host live events, and partner with brands who want to reach Africa’s most engaged, thoughtful audiences. The team is small. The ambition is not.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Five principles we
don't negotiate.

01

Depth over virality

We will never compress a story to chase a click. If it takes ninety minutes to tell properly, it gets ninety minutes. The audience rewards patience. Every time.

02

African stories, world-class craft

Being from the continent is not an excuse for lower production standards. Our studio, our visuals, and our editorial quality compete with the best studios anywhere.

03

Every show has its own soul

We don’t flatten our shows into a single house style. Each production has its own voice, its own visual identity, and its own relationship with its audience.

04

Audiences are partners

Our listeners are not metrics. They are people who chose to spend an hour of their day with us. We build for their trust, not for an algorithm’s approval.

05

Build to last

LF Media is not a side project. We are building a media institution designed to be here in ten years, twenty years, and beyond. Every decision is weighed against that horizon.

06

Kigali is the point

We are proudly headquartered in Rwanda. Our perspective, our talent, and our ambition come from this city. We’re not trying to be somewhere else — we’re making here the place to be.
